Dr Y.K.Hamied is Polish-born-Indian scientist and Non-Executive Chairman of the Company named "Cipla". He represents the second generation of Cipla’s founding family, Cipla Limited is an Indian multinational pharmaceutical company. Dr Hamied obtained his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 1960 from the University of Cambridge. In 2005, Dr Hamied was conferred the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India for his distinguished service to the pharmaceutical industry. Dr Hamied has also been the recipient of several lifetime achievement awards.
